Touch the 80s is bringing back ’80’s New Wave and nothing BUT ’80’s New Wave (and a few early-90's New Wave gems). Touch the ’80s is:
Founding members, Jeff Herbst: lead vocals and Bob Z: keyboards.
Chris Jusino: guitar and vocals.
Joey Sidito: bass, bass synth and vocals. Joey was an integral member of the 1980’s Touch lineup and continues that role in Touch the 80s.
Ken Brown: drums and percussion.
80s New Wave is back!
Touch the 80s isn’t your typical tribute band. Initially created as a side project for The Touch - one of Long Island’s most enduring cover bands, Touch the 80s has turned back the clock to a time when New Wave music really was new. When WLIR and WDRE led the New Music Revolution at 92.7 MHz! The music of Depeche Mode, Erasure, U2, The Cure, New Order and The Smiths ruled the colleges and clubs and The Touch was there to cover it for the masses. The Dublin Pub was the place to be on Sunday nights and Thursdays at French Charly’s created a four-day weekend. “The Pub” and French Charly’s are long gone, but their spirits remain along with countless other clubs from that special, important era of music.
It was a match made in New Wave Heaven and Touch the 80s pays homage to that era, playing nothing but New Wave and filling the clubs with fans and friends who were there to share the experience. You’re invited to join!
